CBDT has extended the deadline for filing income tax returns with refund claims from 2017-18 to January 31, 2024.
For example, Mr Ram has filed Income Tax return for AY 2017-18 with refund and it still has not been processed by Income Tax Department, ITD can still process the return until 31st jan 2024 and Mr Ram can receive the refund by Jan 31 2024.
Earlier due date for processing of Income tax returns filed upto AY 2017-18 was Nov 30th 2021
