A tax called "stamp duty" is put on many kinds of papers by the government. Usually, it's for land deals, legal agreements, and other official documents. Rates of stamp duty are different in each state and depend on the type of document and the amount of money being transferred. The person who buys the house / apartment / villa has to pay the stamp duties.
A registration fee is the money you give the government to keep the document in their records. This fee is paid at the time of registration. In most states, the fee is a certain percentage of the property's market value, sale value, or agreement value.
The value of the property must exceed Rs 50 lakhs in order for TDS to be deducted at 1%. The buyer is required to file form 26QB and generate form 16B for the seller.
