How to get a New e-PAN number in 10 minutes?

Instant PAN (e-PAN) allotment is now easier, faster, better and is available at a free of cost. 1.What are the features of New e-PAN allotment procedure ?

  6. Validate the OTP using OTP received on your mobile.

  8. Validate your eMail ID
  9.  Get the PAN number allotted

PAN allotment is based on your Aadhaar number. PAN pdf will be generated at the end of the process and can be downloaded as well as receive an eMail for your records.

  3. Enter Captcha
  4. Validate the OTP using OTP received on your mobile.
  5. View the Status of your PAN request
5.How to download the e-PAN (instant PAN) ?

As the new e-PAN (instant PAN is directly linked to your Aadhaar Number, you can download such at any time.

Procedure to download the e-PAN is as follow

  1. Visit ITD site for e-PAN Request Status
  2. Enter your Aadhaar Number
  3. Enter Captcha
  4. Validate the OTP using OTP received on your mobile.
  5. Download digitally signed PAN PDF for IT Filing and or other financial activity where required.

Note: Downloading e-PAN is valid only for those who used the new e-PAN process to get a new PAN number (Originally released by the Govt of India on 14th Feb 2020)

6.Is it valid / legal to use ePAN (or aka instant PAN) ?

Per Income Tax Department, "Electronically issued and Digitally signed ePAN (aka instant PAN) is now a valid mode of issue of Permanent Account Number (PAN) post amendments in clause (c) in the Explanation occurring after sub- section (8) of Section 139A of Income Tax Act, 1961 and sub-rule (6) of Rule 114 of the Income Tax Rules, 1962"

7.What is special about new ePAN (aka instant PAN) ?

Per Income Tax Department, Along with visible information about the PAN number, Name, e-PAN also contains enhanced QR code having demographic (such as Name, DOB, Father's Name) as well as biometric (such as scanned photo & signature) information of the PAN holders which can be accessed and used for PAN verification purposes in off-line mode. Information of enhanced QR code is accessible to user agencies through freely available Android version of "PAN QR Code Reader" on Google's "Play Store" which can be downloaded in any mobile phone running on Android OS.

8.How to re-print my old PAN (not a e-PAN or instant PAN) card ?
  1. Newly allotted e-PAN cards have loaded features. The individuals can download e-PAN by just entering the Aadhaar number through https://eportal.incometax.gov.in/iec/foservices/#/pre-login/instant-e-pan
  2. Old PAN allotted by ITD (not an instant PAN): Go to https://www.onlineservices.nsdl.com/paam/requestAndDownloadEPAN.html and enter PAN , Aadhaar number and date of birth (month and year)and enter the OTP received on mobile or email and download the e-PAN
  3. If you want the PAN to be dispatched to your Address: Visit https://www.onlineservices.nsdl.com/paam/ReprintEPan.html and enter PAN and Aadhaar and date of birth (month and year) and enter the OTP received on mobile or email and pay the requisite fees
    • Address in India – Rs. 50
    • Address outside India – Rs. 959
9.How to update my address on my PAN Card ?

You may visit https://www.onlineservices.nsdl.com/paam/endUserRegisterContact.html and follow instructions to get your address updated.

You need to have supporting documents to change the address on PAN card like Aaadhaar, recent bank statement etc.
