Selection of Service Explained:

You can choose any of the EZTax given services for the required assessment year. Using the self-service you can file the return for individual, HUF, with filing status Original, Belated, Revised, Defective return or Updated return and with residential status of resident or non-resident. And by using the assisted expert service, EZTax expert will help you to file the any type of income tax returns like Notice handling, Defective returns, Revised, original, belated, Updated return or any other tax related queries.

Self Service Tax Filing: It is a comprehensive, intuitive, and optimized online do-it-yourself questionnaire for filing taxes for any income level. Select any of the services required to file the tax or get an advice.
Filing Status: It means which tax return form an individual will use Example: Individual, HUF, Firm etc.
  1. Please select the filing status Individual or HUF (Hindu undivided family). An HUF is recognized as a separate assessable entity, for this on separate PAN card and filing is applicable .
Assessment Year (AY): It means a period of 12 months commencing on 1st April every year. The year in which income earned in previous year and such income is taxable in the immediately following year i.e, AY.

For Example, income earned in the previous year (01/04/2018 to 31/03/2019) is taxable and tax filed in AY 2019-20.

  1. Note: IT Department has decided to close Revised, belated IT Returns for AY 2017-18, 2018-19
  2. For AY 2019-20, 2020-21, has released new software, and enabled Online IT eFiling Option

  1. Original Return: It means you are filing the return with in the due date of income tax
  2. Belated Return: It means you are filing the return after the due date of income tax
  3. Revised Return: It means you are filing the return more than one time for single financial year, to file this you need provide the original filed acknowledgment number received from ITD, and original or first filed return date

Residential Status: During the financial year if the tax payer lives in India above 182 days tax is considered as Resident with the extent of income tax rules. If it is below 182 days tax payer is considered as Non-Resident with the extent of income tax rules.
